# Recovering past abandoned checkouts

When you first turn on Wiz, your Abandoned Checkout flow starts working for **new** abandoned checkouts going forward. But you don't have to leave the recent ones on the table - Wiz can add **past abandoned checkouts** to the flow retroactively.

## How it works

Typically after you **activate your emails for the first time and connect your domain**, a banner appears at the top of the **Flows & pop-up page**:

> *"We found **X** abandoned checkouts on your store in the last 30 days. Add them to your new abandoned checkout flow."*

Click **Save Lost Checkouts** and those shoppers from the last 30 days enter your Abandoned Checkout flow - so you can recover carts that were abandoned just before you got set up.
